Toys in Santa’s stocking are safer this Christmas thanks to New South Wales Fair Trading Inspectors. The Inspectors have visited 975 retailers and one toy supplier across the state, spotting toys and decorations which may cause accidental harm. Just over 17,000 products were examined to make sure Australian standards were met. Inspectors removed 69 products which were non-compliant or illegal, while five toys were subject to a permanent ban. 39 retailers and one supplier were found to be selling dangerous items.
