Singapore’s Straits Times reported on a new academic program designed to educate mental health professionals in the country.

 

In response to the increasing need for mental health services in Singapore, a new postgraduate program focusing on clinical mental health will begin in January 2025. The Master of Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy program, provided by the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NUHS Yeo Boon Khim Mind Science Centre, aims to address the need for additional training for mental health professionals. Dr Pearlene Ng, who serves as the deputy programme director and education director of psychology at the NUHS Yeo Boon Khim Mind Science Centre, explained that the program aims to assist mental health professionals in providing better support to their patients.
